Terms of Service

Last updated — 23 August 2026

These Terms set out what you can expect from SchoolSQL and what we expect from you. They apply to every school that subscribes to SchoolSQL and to everyone who signs in — administrators, teachers, students and parents.

1.About these Terms

SchoolSQL is a school management service operated by SchoolSQL Group ("SchoolSQL", "we", "us"). These Terms of Service form the agreement between SchoolSQL and the school that subscribes to the service, and they also govern the use of SchoolSQL by everyone that school gives access to.

By creating a school on SchoolSQL, signing in, or continuing to use the service, you accept these Terms. If you are accepting on behalf of a school, you confirm you are authorised to do so.

2.Who can use SchoolSQL

SchoolSQL is provided to schools. A school administrator creates the school account and decides who else may sign in.

Account holders

  • School owners and administrators, who manage the school, its staff and its subscription.
  • Teaching and non-teaching staff, whose access is limited by the permissions the school assigns them.
  • Students and their parents or guardians, who access a student portal containing that student’s own records.

Children use SchoolSQL under the supervision of their school and their parent or guardian. A student account is created by the school, not by the child.

3.Your account and login details

You are responsible for keeping your login details private and for everything done with your account. Tell the school office immediately if you believe someone else has access to it.

Schools may issue temporary passwords or one-time login links to help families set up their accounts. Those credentials are single-use and stop working once a password has been set. Sharing them with anyone other than the intended family is a misuse of the service.

4.School and student data

The records a school enters into SchoolSQL — student profiles, results, attendance, fees and everything else — belong to the school. The school decides what is recorded, who may see it and how long it is kept.

SchoolSQL processes that data on the school’s behalf, only to provide and support the service. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to advertise to you. How we handle it is set out in our Privacy Policy.

A school may export its data at any time while its subscription is active.

5.Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use SchoolSQL for anything unlawful, or to harass, harm or impersonate anyone.
  • Access records you have not been given permission to see, or attempt to work around the permission system.
  • Upload malicious software, or attempt to disrupt, overload or reverse-engineer the service.
  • Resell, sublicense or provide SchoolSQL to a third party as your own service.

We may suspend access that puts other schools, families or the service itself at risk. Where we can, we will tell the school first and explain what needs to change.

6.Subscriptions and payment

SchoolSQL is sold to schools on a per-term or per-session subscription. The plan, the price and the billing period are shown to the school before it subscribes and on its billing page afterwards.

When a subscription lapses, the school keeps access to its account and its data. Some features — such as publishing report cards — are withheld until the subscription is renewed.

Where SchoolSQL is used to collect school fees online, the money is settled to the school’s own receiving account. SchoolSQL is not a party to the arrangement between a school and a family over fees.

7.Service availability and changes

We work to keep SchoolSQL available and accurate, but we cannot promise it will never be interrupted. Planned maintenance is scheduled outside school hours wherever possible.

We improve SchoolSQL continuously. Features may be added, changed or retired. We will not remove a feature a school depends on without notice and a replacement or an export path.

8.Our responsibility to you

SchoolSQL is provided as it is. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profits, arising from your use of the service.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

9.Ending your use of SchoolSQL

A school may stop using SchoolSQL at any time. Individual accounts are created and removed by the school, not by us.

On request from an authorised school administrator, we will delete the school’s data. Some records may remain in backups for a limited period before they are overwritten, and we may keep what we are legally required to keep.

10.Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. When we make a material change we will update the "Last updated" date on this page and, where the change affects how a school uses the service, tell school administrators directly.

Continuing to use SchoolSQL after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.

11.Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and the courts of Nigeria have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
